RGVCASA Swears in New Volunteers- 4/25/17

It has become almost cliché to say that "the courts are overworked," but that doesn't stop Rio Grande Valley CASA volunteers from stepping into the courtroom to speak up for the childrens best interests. RGV's Court Appointed Special Advocates are growing in numbers as well as in heart. These community volunteers are introduced to the CASA program and trained by staff to be the "Voice of a Child" within the 7th Judicial Court System in Central New Mexico. RGVCASA is proud to welcome three new volunteers who have all been sworn in by the judges in the past two weeks. RGVCASA would like to thank Lisa Todd, Yarrow Dankert, and Tiffany Holmes for stepping up and stepping in to this great advocational program. RGVCASA is looking for about 10 total volunteers to assist with the program. Volunteers usually spend about 8-10 hours per month working on specific cases, however, the work they do can have a tremendous impact on the youth involved. If you or someone you know would be interested in joining RGVCASA's volunteer program, please contact Destiny Mitchell, 575-740-7542, 894-4437, rgvcasasierra@windstream.net, or stop by our volunteer monthly meeting scheduled for Tuesday, May 30th, at 12:00pm at the Great Room in the Pelican Spa. Thank you so much to these new volunteers, we have the utmost faith in them. And thank you to the community for your support of our program, we really appreciate it.
